Danapur was the 1st division in Eastern Railway to get a Mini Computer under Phase-II of the scheme of Divisional Computerization initiated by Railway Board. The system (S-386 UNIX WIPRO Cobol) was commissioned in the Divisional EDP Center, Danapur on 6th June, 1989 and inaugurated by Sri R. D. Kitson, General Manager, Eastern Railway. Second system (Pentium-II SCO UNIX MF COBOL) was commissioned on 08.11.1999. Third system (E-Server AiX) was supplied by East Central Railway and was commissioned on 05.11.2003. At present only 01 systems E-Server AiX is running.
Staff in EDP Centre are manned from other departments on deputation basis. At present, there are 10 Group’ C’ and 4 Group’D’ staff working in this centre. PAYROLL SYSTEM:Generation of Salary for all employees of the division is being done on PRIME System.

Launching of interactive
website of Danapur division- An interactive website featuring
all the requirements of Railway users and our employee’s
has been launched. Besides, all basic information and activities,
it will also serve for computerization and publication of
all relevant documents as well as online feedback etc.
Facilitators as well as IT solution provider for speedy working of railway system.
Management of network administration for LAN/WAN and also wireless networks for going ahead as on paperless communication for flow of various routine “positions” being sent by line offices/depots/units to divisional HQ and vice versa.
BOOKLETS and other Computer generated documents-:Monthly MCDO, booklets for POM, General Manager’s Annual Inspections and all other Computer generated documents are prepared/processed at EDP Centre. Booklets for POM, General Manager’s Annual Inspections are also prepared by EDP Centre. |
